A list of 15 healthcare services have been integrated into the Swords Community Healthcare Network, in preparation for the new Primary Care Centre.
When the new Primary Care Centre is open, which is expected in early 2025, these services will be part of the new facility.
Construction of the new centre is due to start this year at a location in Airside.
The 15 services which have already been integrated into the community healthcare network in Swords are as follows:
- Addiction services
- Adult Mental Health
- Community Medical Doctor
- DDOC
- Dental
- Dietetics
- Nursing
- Occupational Therapy
- Physiotherapy
- Psychology
- Rotunda Community Clinics
- Smoking Cessation
- Social Work
- Speech and Language Therapy
- Women’s Aid
The list of services was outlined to Councillors in an update from the HSE to the local Area Committee this week.
Cllr Ian Carey said:
“It was remarked during the council meeting that this looks like it might be one of the biggest primary care centres in the county when it is complete – and I think that might be right.
“It is shaping up to be a massive asset to the town of Swords as until now many of these services have been out of town. It means so much to everyone, but especially vulnerable groups, to have healthcare provision local.”
