The west bound lane of traffic on Bridge Street in Swords is to be close for a month from this weekend.
This for the laying of essential water pipes and is connected to the ongoing road works on Church Road.
The closure will last from August 22nd until September 17th.
The closure notice reads as follows:
Fingal County Council has made an Order temporarily closing the outbound lane of Bridge Street, Swords, Co. Dublin, for the installation of a watermain by GMC Utilities Ltd on behalf of Irish Water. It is proposed that the outbound lane from Main Street will be closed for 24 hours from 22nd August to 17th September 2022.
The permitted working hours are between 08:00 and 20:00 Monday to Friday and between 09:00 and 16:00 on Saturdays. No works are permitted on Sundays and Bank Holidays.
Alternative routes available for vehicular traffic are as follows:
Traffic Travelling from Seatown Road /North Street
For access to Bridge Street and Rathbeale Road, continue south on Main Street to the junction with Church Road, turn right. Continue on Church Road followed by a left on to Brackenstown Road, then right on to Brackenstown Avenue and continue to the Rathbeale Road.
Traffic Travelling from Main Street South
For access to Bridge Street and Rathbeale Road from the top of Main Street, continue on to North Street and turn left on to Balheary Road and then another left onto Watery Lane and continue on to the Rathbeale Road.Local access for residents and businesses will be maintained at all times. Emergency Services access will also be made available in event of an emergency. Fingal County Council regrets any inconvenience caused in relation to this matter.
