The new toilet in Swords Town Park, just off North St, has been badly damaged by vandals.
This is the second facility to be badly damaged in Swords in recent weeks – as the new toilet block at the Rivervalley sports hub suffered similar treatment.
Council staff are working to restore the restroom on North Street but as asking the public to report any suspicious activity around the area to police and if they find the area damaged to please report it to the council.
Cllr Ian Carey said:
“It’s very disheartening to see this hard fought for facility trashed in this way. Swords has a lack of public restrooms and the last thing we need is people smashing up the new ones. It shows utter contempt for the community, and it needs to stop. If anyone has any information that can lead to the culprits being caught, please contact the gardaí.”
