School wardens, who help students walk safely to school, are in low numbers in the Swords area.
This has led to some areas not being covered if an existing warden is ill or needs time off.
Fingal County Council are currently advertising for reserve and permanent school wardens. If you are interested you will find the details in the image below.
Cllr Ian Carey said:
“Every day in primary school I passed the lollipop man, as we called them then, and for thousands of kids it’s still the same. School wardens provide such an important service, getting children to school across busy roads and junctions. We cannot be serious about getting people out of their cars if we can’t make it easy and safe for children to walk to school. If you are interested I would encourage you to apply.”
