Jigsaw, who provide mental health supports for young people from 12 to 25, have opened a new facility in Swords.
The new service contains a number of newly furnished counselling rooms, to make young people and families feel at ease, as well as a kitchen and office space for staff.
The new service is located in the Swords Plaza complex, above Smiles Dental, on the Malahide Road.
It is an extension of the Jigsaw North Fingal service which also has an office in Balbriggan. The organisation decided to open a new office in the Swords area because of the high number of clients coming from the Swords, Malahide and South Fingal area.
If you know of someone who may need some support you can contact the team through the website Jigsaw.ie and find the details for the North Fingal service.
Cllr Ian Carey said:
“We all struggle with our mental health from time to time and it is all the more important that young people who need help get it.
“Thats why I’m delighted to hear that this service has opened its doors in Swords. I have known for a while that they have been looking to find somewhere in the Swords area and I was happy to steer them towards the right people. I’m glad they found somewhere suitable in Swords, where office space can be tricky to find at times.
“If you or a family member need support I would encourage you to reach out to Jigsaw and see if their services are a fit. It’s so important to reach out when you are having a problem. It can make all the difference.
“Congratulations to the team on the launch of their service. It is a really fantastic facility and it clearly took a lot of hard work to get to launch.”
