A learn to cycle track will be built at a site in the Ward River Valley next to the Brackenstown Road.
The site is currently used by construction workers who built the new steps into the valley from the Windmill Lands side.
The new facility will be an area laid out with road markings to give those new to cycling a chance to practice their skills and build their understanding of how to cycle on roads. The development is being brought forward by the Fingal Active Travel team and they will use the facility to promote cycling amoung all age groups.
Cllr Ian Carey said:
“This is a really good proposal for a small area of land that was used by construction workers as a car park. It is important that we give young people the space and facilities to learn to cycle. It also allows people of all ages to practice cycling without being near traffic.”
