Can the council do more to halt climate change? Should it be setting a better example? Is the management of your area sustainable?
These are some of the questions that can inform what Fingal County Council should be doing on climate and this is the time to ask them.
Fingal County Council is currently consulting on its Draft Climate Action Plan 2024 – 2029.
The four key targets are as follows
- 50% improvement in Council’s energy efficiency by 2030
- 51% reduction in Council’s greenhouse gas emissions by 2030
- Make Dublin a climate resilient region, by reducing impacts of future climate change related events
- Actively engage and inform communities on climate action
Cllr Ian Carey said:
“I want to encourage everyone to take part in this. Climate action is now informing so much of what the council does and making sure we are setting a high bar is so important for the health, well-being, and prosperity of people in Fingal for generations to come.”
