The old bank building, at 47 Main St Swords, looks like it will continue to be a financial institution as Members First Credit Union file a planning application on the listed buidling.
The planning application from Members First which was registered earlier this month detailed the following works:
New shopfront signage, repair works to the front facade, two new banking teller counters with security glass above, new internal freestanding ATM machine and meeting booth, new secured access gate and steel railing to match existing to rear wall, new paving to staff area to rear and all associated site works.
Cllr Ian Carey said:
“It’s good to see plans to bring the building coming back into use soon after being made vacant. We have so much to do to make Main St the kind of urban space that the town of Swords really deserves but it is good to see investment in the area continuing. I hope that in the next few years we see some really strong plans to redevelopment Main St coming forward.”
