Two key roads in Swords will be closed at the end of July for essential works.
Church Road, which runs by St Columba’s Church, and Forest Road will be close for the laying of water pipes and resurfacing respectively.
The Church Road closure will be for 24 hours and will run from the 25th of July until August 19th. The section of the Forest Rd will be closed between 8am and 6pm ofrom July 25th to 29th and again on August 2nd and 3rd.
Local access will be maintained during the closures. They are both currently out for public consultation at consult.fingal.ie.

“An application has been received from Irish Water / GMC Utilities Ltd, for permission to temporarily close a section of Church Road, Swords, Co. Dublin, to facilitate the laying of a water main on behalf of Irish Water. It is proposed that the road will be closed between the junction with Brackenstown Road and the junction with Bridge Street from 25th July to 19th August 2022.”
“Fingal County Council hereby gives notice that it intends to temporarily close a section of Forrest Road, Swords, Co Dublin. It is proposed that the road will be closed from its junction with Rathingle Road as far as its junction with Hawthorne Park. The purpose of this closure is to facilitate road resurfacing works. The period of the proposed temporary closure will be 8.00am to 6.00pm from 25th to 29th July and again on 2nd and 3rd August 2022.“
