Swords is badly in need of a swimming pool and municipal sports complex – everyone in the town would agree on that.
Right now Fingal Sport Department are asking people to tell them what sporting facilities they need. This is the moment to push for a number of facilities in the town of Swords.
Here is a list of facilities you might like to mention in your response:
- Swimming pool
- Rugby pitch
- Hockey pitch
- Cricket ground
- Taekwando hall
- Cycling track
- Rock climbing wall
- Multi-sport stadium
Cllr Ian Carey said:
“For so many sporting activities, to take part in them you have to leave Swords. For a town of 50,000 people it’s not acceptable.
“We need major investment in sport including a swimming pool, a major municipal sport facility, and a stadium.
“That is the least a town of this size should be looking for.”
