Senior Gardaí will discuss crime and issues of concern in the Swords area this Wednesday in the Carnegie Court Hotel.
The public meeting of the Joint Policing Committee will bring together senior gardaí, representatives of Fingal County Council, and relevant agencies to explain their work and answer questions from the public.
The meeting will start at 7pm and conclude at 8.30pm and will give the public an opportunity to speak to local gardaí before and after the event.
This will be the first such meeting held in Swords since Covid.
Cllr Ian Carey, Chair of the Joint Policing Committee said:
“I pushed for this meeting to be held in Swords and I’m glad to be able to Chair it here. There are a number of concerns of residents around crime that I have been dealing with for some time in Swords that need to be resolved. I encourage everyone who has an interest in safety in their community to come down and have your voice heard. We have had some positive developments in policing in Swords over the last year but we are now facing into difficulties, in particular around the change to the roster which is planned for November. I look forward to lost of issues being aired and hopefully a constructive dialogue with lots of solutions put forward.”
