New stations that will allow park users to fill their water bottles will be rolled out in the Ward River Valley in Swords.
A station will be provided along with the new all weather pitch on the River Valley side and they are looking for other locations within the park with a view to going to tender on it later this year.
Fingal were the first council in Europe to install contactless water filling points when they began in 2020 now they are bringing them to all their regional parks.
“This is great to see. I look forward to these facilities being rolled out to all local parks. It is an objective under the council’s Climate Action Plan to provide these facilities and I’m glad to see it coming to Swords.
“It’s such a simple thing to allow people to fill their own bottle with water and cut down on the need for plastic. We need to do everything we can to keep the Ward River Valley clean and then work to resolve the long standing dumping issues,” said Cllr Ian Carey.
