The section of the Brackenstown Road, which suffered from subsidence, will be closed for three days next week (13th, 14th, 15th December).
The road between Swords Manor and Knocksedan is being closed to allow for the final works to be completed.
Traffic from Swords will be diverted along the Murrough Rd to the Rathbeal Rd and back down the Naul Rd to Knocksedan Bridge.
Local access to homes and businesses will be maintained during the three days but through transit will not be possible.
Cllr Ian Carey said:
“It has been an long running saga trying to get this road sorted. We are nearly two years with a stop-go in place on one of the busiest routes out of Swords. At least now we know that this work will be completed and the road will be back in action for Christmas.”
