The healthcare division of German technology giant Siemens are expanding their operations in Swords and creating 100 jobs.
Two thirds of the new positions will be high-level engineering roles in areas such as data sciene, AI and machine learning.
Siemens have been based in Swords since the 1960s but this new investment will make Swords a centre of excellence for immunoassay instrument research and development.
Immunoassay is a type of biochemical test and they are used in home pregnancy tests and in sports anit-doping analysis.
This new centre is looking to make advancements in the detection of infectious diseases, cancers and blood disorders.

Swords is continuing to grow as a hub for these industries and it is really positive to see some of our longest standing employers continue to make strong investments for the future and keeping these highly prized R&D roles in Fingal.”
